Term 2 Newsletter

Dear Everyone,

Term 2 has been so busy at The Royal School and the time has flown by! The children have settled into their classes and if you have been able to come to one of our Sparkle Day open sessions you will have seen the progress the children are making. A big thank you to all the staff for their hard work -  the school is looking lovely!

I would also like to say a big thank you to the PTA who have organised so many exciting events this term. The children loved the Halloween party and I know a lot of money was raised at the Christmas Tree Depot, although, I think everyone who helped out there is still trying to defrost their hands and feet!

I hope you all have a really lovely Christmas and I look forward to seeing everyone on Tuesday 3rd January.
To start off Anti-Bullying week we held an Odd Socks Days which was an opportunity for us to encourage people to express themselves and celebrate their individuality and what makes us all unique! The theme of this year's Anti-Bullying week was 'Reach Out'. We will continue with our work on anti-bullying so that everyone feels safe and happy at school.

We have had a very busy build up to Christmas which started by The Royal School children being invited to make and then hang their Christmas decorations on the tree at Windsor Illuminated. It was a very exciting evening trying out the fairground rides and having a first look around the light trail before it was opened to the general public.
Our Year 3 and 4 choir were invited to sing Carols in St George's Hall at Windsor Castle and at the York Club for the WI at their Christmas party - it was very festive and they all sang beautifully.
We have received lots of positive comments about our Nativity performance, the children should be very proud of how well they sang, spoke and acted, and they looked amazing in all of their costumes.
We held a Snow themed day on Tuesday 13th December which was made all the more special by snow falling the day before - lots of little snowmen were built around the playground followed by us drying lots of pairs of gloves on the radiators!
We had a surprise visitor who arrived with a sack of presents at the children's Christmas parties and our Christmas dinner was a very special occasion with everyone wearing their Christmas jumpers! Thank you to all those who were involved in laying the tables, cooking and serving lunch and of course to those that helped clear and wash up! Christmas lunch was followed by our very exciting Dick Whittington pantomime with lots of cheering and audience participation!
The PTA Christmas Fair was a great success and the last day of term Carol Service at the Royal Chapel was a beautiful way to round off the term - thank you for coming it was lovely to see the Chapel so full.
