Our curriculum in 2020-21 looked a little different to most years, as we made the most of the learning children have completed at home during 2020. We built on each child's learning experiences to support every child in our school to soar.
Yet those who wait for the Lord
Will gain new strength;
They will soar with wings like eagles,
They will run and not get tired,
They will walk and not become weary.
Isaiah 40:31
Will gain new strength;
They will soar with wings like eagles,
They will run and not get tired,
They will walk and not become weary.
Isaiah 40:31
We are incredibly proud of our Royal School pupils and their families. We might all have had different starting places in the 2020-21 curriculum but each child brought something unique to our learning experience and enriched the lives of those around them.
Covid-19 Government Catch-up Funding
The Royal School have used the allocated funding to release teachers to enable them to plan and provide interventions for children that require extra support after the disrupted 2019-20 school year.
Each Wednesday we have brought specialist teachers into school to teach ICT, PE and French. This has enabled classroom teachers to provide English and Maths interventions to those children that have needed extra support.
At the end of the 2020-21 year children have made excellent progress and we have begun the 2021-22 year with most children working at or beyond age related expectations across curriculum areas.
