Computing

We promote a cross-curricular approach to our computing learning. As a result, computing lessons are incorporated into topic learning and other aspects of the curriculum rather than merely being stand-alone lessons.   Teachers track the objectives achieved by children though integrated topic-based teaching and may decide to teach some independent computer lessons to ensure that specific knowledge and skills are covered adequately.  From Year 1 upwards children have the opportunity to use technology, learn about technology use, develop their programming skills and learn how to keep safe online.  In reception the children use technology in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum.
